Seems the death of the SOL and the first power up of the EconoROM board was just misfortunate timing and probably unrelated. I was really thinking I had caused some major problems by plugging in the EconoROM boards and had destroyed more than a few components in the process. Lucky me.

I was in the process of fixing the 12V regulator and on my EconoROM II board. On first power up of the SOL-20 with the card installed I was greeted with...nothing. The SOL was dead, and it had just been working only minuets before. It took me about 4 hours to track down the problem to the video circuit, which wasn't getting any clock signal. After I found the issue, tracking down the exact component was easy, and involved replacing a single IC. The 74LS163 @ U28. Fortunately I had some spare in my parts bin.
