Maplin project documentation
Maplin in the 80’s was the creator of great electronic kits for many of the home computers of the day, including, of course, the ZX81. I have two of their kits, the sound generator kit, and the I/O kit. When I was searching for information on these kits, Robert Newson was kind enough to scan what Maplin materials he had. I have compiled his scans into PDF formant, and they are available from my website. If anyone from Maplin takes issue with me sharing these files, please contact me here, and I will remove them promptly.
I have information available on the following kits:
Sound generator
Modem interface
Full travel keyboard
High-res graphics
TV inverse video
Talk-back (plus modifications)
